Susan Kelly joins Irish Squash Board of Directors

Susan Kelly has been co-opted to the Irish Squash Board of Directors as an independent director, bringing the total number of board members to eight. Kelly’s appointment adds further depth and breadth of experience to the board, supporting Irish Squash’s ambition for a strategically focused board planning for and safeguarding the long-term future of the sport.

Kelly has over 20 years of experience in human resource management and financial services and is currently a Partner at Odgers Berndtson, a leading global executive search and organisational leadership firm.

Commenting on the appointment, President Rosie Barry said:

“Following an extensive interview process, I am delighted that Susan is co-opted onto the Board of Irish Squash as our second independent director. Her experience in human resources will be invaluable and she also brings an environmental, social and governance (ESG) perspective to our organisation. I look forward to working with her alongside our other board members. I am confident we are well equipped to deliver on the strategic plan as mandated by our membership.”

Irish Squash CEO, Scott Graham, added:

“It is fantastic to have another highly experienced volunteer join our board of directors. The combination of in-depth squash knowledge and diverse industry experience on the board will serve the organisation well as we move forward with the delivery of our ambitious strategic plan. These plans include the development of a national centre, a focus on promoting and developing junior squash, and targeting LA 2028 Olympic qualification as some of the key highlights.

“The staff team has grown significantly over the past 12 months, and we are now scaling up participation programmess for women and girls, disadvantaged and marginalised communities, schools, and juniors, thanks to securing increased government funding. We are pleased to have the support of a board of directors who have the best interests of the sport at heart.”

The Irish Squash Board of Directors comprises President Dr. Rosie Barry, Vice President John Dineen, Honorary Secretary Christine Mooney, Ordinary Board Members Lee Healy, Noel Storey, and Rose Hynes, as well as Independent Board Directors Kevin Ahern and Susan Kelly.
