Now in its second year – the Leo O’Brien Memorial Tournament organised by Eddie Murphy and Derek Ryan for former U19 Squash International Leo O’Brien was held last weekend 28th May in Troyes south of Paris.

The players after a long battle!

Leo was a talented squash player based out of Highfield squash club in Cork – and later went on to coach in the UK ultimately residing near Paris. The memorial fund supports the education of his two daughters Laura and Emma.

The host club based in Troyes provided a fantastic and warm welcome for the travelling players and a super event and evening of celebration followed. Derek wowed the audience with his performance and a great time was had by all. A few new squash rivalries have now been firmly established! Eddie hopes to organise a similar event in Cork and another next year in Troyes. So here is a the chance for all levels of players to get their first international Squash Cap! Information about the event will be posted here once details are available.
